Xiaomi may soon expand its flagship smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17. According to recent certification listings, both devices have reportedly received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), indicating that their India launch could be approaching. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the development, but BIS certification is typically a key step ahead of a commercial release.

Leaks and tipster reports have now provided insight into the expected specifications, camera features and pricing of the upcoming smartphones.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to be the top-tier model in the lineup. As per leaks, the smartphone could feature a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

Battery capacity on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is tipped to be 6,800mAh, with support for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. In terms of photography, Xiaomi is likely to continue its partnership with Leica. The device is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera.

The standard Xiaomi 17 is expected to feature a smaller 6.3-inch OLED display while using the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. According to leaks, the smartphone may include a 7,000mAh battery.

Camera features on the Xiaomi 17 are also expected to carry Leica branding. The phone is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a Leica 60mm floating lens design.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav has suggested that Xiaomi could launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 in India around March 2026. Pricing is expected to be higher than previous generations due to rising component costs.
