Realme has officially announced that its upcoming Neo-series smartphone, the Realme Neo8, will launch in China on January 12, 2026. The device will succeed the Neo7, which made its debut back in December 2024.
The company’s China Vice President confirmed that the Neo8 will feature flagship-grade luminous display materials supplied by Samsung. He also highlighted that the smartphone will support native ultra-high frame rates, ensuring smooth and powerful performance.
Realme has also shared the first teaser image of the device, showcasing a stunning Cyber Purple colour variant. The teaser reveals a transparent RGB lighting design, along with the return of the brand’s signature Awakening Halo feature.

The Awakening Halo system works with the transparent RGB elements. Together, they create a striking and futuristic look for the Neo8. Chase Xu, Realme’s CMO and Vice President, highlights that this effect is especially pronounced when the lights glow. He added that the blend of a metal frame and transparent glass back offers a premium in-hand feel. It also highlights the brand’s craftsmanship.
The Realme Neo8 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It is built on the same architecture and manufacturing process as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The device is expected to deliver exceptional performance, reportedly achieving benchmark scores of up to 3.58 million.
Previous leaks suggest that the smartphone will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K 165Hz LTPS OLED flat display from Samsung. It will have a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. There is also a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device has IP69 dust and water resistance. Additionally, it comes with a massive 8000mAh battery.
