Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Confirmed for June 16: Dimensity 8500 Ultra, 7,560mAh Battery and 100W Charging
Redmi is preparing to introduce its Turbo smartphone lineup to Indian consumers for the first time. The company has officially confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will launch in India on June 16, bringing a series that was previously available only in China to a wider audience.

Ahead of the launch, Redmi has started revealing several key highlights of the upcoming device, positioning it as a performance-focused smartphone with premium hardware and long-lasting battery life.
Redmi’s Fastest Smartphone Yet
According to Redmi, the Turbo 5 is designed to deliver top-tier speed and efficiency. The company claims it will be the fastest Redmi smartphone launched so far, while also featuring the largest battery ever included in a Redmi handset.
The device will be sold through Amazon India, where a dedicated launch microsite is already live. Promotional images showcase the smartphone in black and white color options, although Redmi has not yet announced the official names of these finishes.
Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra
At the heart of the Redmi Turbo 5 is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. Redmi says the chipset enables the smartphone to achieve an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 2.3 million points, placing it among the highest-performing devices in its category.

The company has also confirmed support for up to 24GB of RAM. However, part of this figure comes from virtual memory expansion, suggesting the Indian model may feature 12GB of physical LPDDR5X RAM paired with additional virtual RAM.
For storage, the device utilizes UFS 4.1 technology, offering faster app loading times, smoother multitasking, and quicker file transfers. Redmi has not yet disclosed all storage variants for the Indian market.
Advanced Cooling for Gaming and Heavy Tasks
To maintain stable performance during demanding workloads, Redmi has equipped the Turbo 5 with its 3D Ice-Loop Cooling System.
The cooling solution is designed to efficiently dissipate heat during gaming sessions, extended video recording, and other intensive activities, helping the device sustain peak performance for longer periods.
AMOLED Display With High Brightness
While Redmi has not officially confirmed the complete display specifications for India, the Chinese variant provides a strong indication of what buyers can expect.
The smartphone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1268 x 2756 pixels. The panel supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate for improved responsiveness.
One of the standout display features is its peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.
Camera Setup Focuses on Everyday Photography
The Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to arrive with a dual rear camera system.
The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 camera with an f/1.5 aperture, designed to capture detailed images in various lighting conditions. Accompanying it is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for landscape and group shots.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone includes a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

Huge 7,560mAh Battery With 100W Fast Charging
Battery capacity could be one of the biggest selling points of the Redmi Turbo 5.
The Chinese version packs a massive 7,560mAh battery, and Redmi’s teaser about the largest battery ever in a Redmi smartphone strongly suggests the Indian variant will feature the same unit.
The battery is paired with 100W wired fast charging support, allowing users to quickly recharge the device despite its large capacity.
What to Expect at Launch
With a flagship-grade MediaTek processor, high-speed LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, advanced cooling technology, and a huge battery, the Redmi Turbo 5 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the performance smartphone segment.
Pricing and availability details are expected to be announced during the official launch event on June 16. If Redmi brings the Chinese specifications largely unchanged to India, the Turbo 5 could emerge as one of the most compelling options for gamers and power users in its category.
